Unhappy Vista Pricing

Someone slipped up last week, and the prices for Windows Vista fell out.. And the pricing was made official by Micro$oft last friday.

The full retail versions of the software will be as follows:
Windows Vista Ultimate, $399; Windows Vista Business, $299; Windows Vista Home Premium, $239; and Windows Vista Home Basic, $199.

If all you need is an Upgrade for Windows XP:
Windows Vista Ultimate, $259; Windows Vista Business, $199; Windows Vista Home Premium, $159; and Windows Vista Home Basic, $99.

So for me, this year and next are going to be very expensive...

Re: Vista Pricing

Umm that's alot of money for a unix os style mimic with a couple of lines of code added and additions to forms and windows core shell programming for the high increase in price.

Re: Vista Pricing

Business Week put out some more information about 3 hours ago, stating that Vista cost the same as comparable versions of the previous version (Windows XP). They also said that the version is on track to businesses in the the 4th Quarter of this year, and to consumers in the 1st of next. The pricing between the premium and basic is only 50 dollars and the large difference is extra ability features that come with premium. But the fact in short is HOW much totally will it cost. Because older machines are going to run slow, or not produce the graphic capabilities. And with companies selling computers for under 500 dollars, its kind of a gamble whether its cheaper to upgrade your OS or your whole system...

Re: Vista Pricing

Well that's why people should smarten up and stop buying shitboxes and maybe that would force manufacturers to build better computers to better suit the upcoming software onslaught scheduled for the 07/08 years.
